Did You Know…?
In addition to general facts regarding the religion of Islam, “Did you know” is a category that will also contain facts regarding historical Muslim figures, whom to this day are remembered for their acts. For instance:
The First Muslim to suffer at the hands of unbelievers… Sa’ad Bin Abi Waqqas رضي الله عنه
The first female martyr… Hadhrat Sumayyah رضي الله عنها.
There are many Du’as (supplications) mentioned by our Beloved Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم and also in the Holy Qur’an that teach us how to ask from Allah Ta’ala and what to supplicate for. In the same manner, there are many narrations where we are told the rewards for supplicating and specific benefits of certain Du’as.
There are many sites from which Du’as can be found. However, in this category, we hope to mention the Du’a, along with its translation and merits.
An effort will be made to advertise events that will be beneficial for the reader to attend. Insha Allah, as and when possible we will advertise and mention events that are taking place alongside with some personal notes as to what we think of the event or for whom it will be most beneficial etc.
We would also appreciate if people could email us to inform us of any events that may be taking place that are not up already on the blog.
There is a great struggle and effort from people to increase their Islamic Knowledge. However, at times we tend to forget, if not neglect, the basics and essentials of Islam.
Insha Allah posts in this category will include Fiqh rulings regarding our religion, consisting of those that are basic, everyday necessities as well as those which a more complex and rare rulings.
Our Prophet صلي الله وليه و سلم left behind for us two things to guide us till the Day of Judgement; The Qur’an and The Sunnah.
To realise how to be correctly on the path of Islam it is necessary to understand and study the messages and sayings of our Beloved صلي الله وليه و سلم and this will be done under this category.
Many a times, there will be a simple mention of his beautiful sayings and at times there will be an explanation and greater level of study of his deep words of wisdom.
News & Views
Some people may already be aware that previously I had started a blog under the title of “News & Views” along with a few others. However, I have decided to transfer those posts to this blog and continue to provide relevant news with some views on this blog.
This category will bring a little light onto the news that we hear and read. Hopefully, we can shed some of our views on it as well as highlight what the Qur’an and Sunnah have said about such stories.
Here an extreme effort will be made to provide information to both Muslims and non-Muslims regarding the religion of Islam. An effort will be made to post articles which address the problems, thoughts and misconceptions they many people have regarding the religion of Islam.
The aim will be to educate people regarding the religion of Islam, and its true message, through a series of articles and posts on different subject areas.
This section will be used for poetry that we come across whilst reading and through other sources. Insha Allah, an effort will be made to present poetry from different language along with a translation so that people can value the deep meanings contained within the verses of the poem.
Questions & Answers
This section will contain questions that have been asked directly to me and answered by me. It will also contain questions and answers from other sites or sources that I feel will benefit the reader or are related to some of the topics under discussion.
There are no words mightier, complex and complete than the words of Allah; The Qur’an. Allah proclaims:
“This is that book in which there is no doubt. It is a guide for those who fear Allah”
[al-Baqarah – 2:2]
And similarly, the Prophet of Allah صلي الله عليه و سلم has shown us how to live our lives in accordance to the Qur’an and has told us that, along with his teachings, the Qur’an is our source of guidance after his demise.
Posts in this category will either have the verses of the Qur’an along with its meanings or verses of the Qur’an accompanied with explanations and commentaries.
This section will contain all posts related to the blessed month of Ramadhan. A category within which effort will be made to prepare for this blessed month by understanding its merits and purpose as well as knowing what worship should be carried out and necessary rulings.
This category has been set to put in general posts that will not be for any other category. It will cover all ranges of topics and discussions that will not be covered in other categories.
