Hajj Presentation

As the month of Dhul Hijjah is approaching, many people will be intending to perfom one of the five obligations from the pillars of Islam, the obligation of performing Hajj. Many people will have booked their travels in advance and many will be still booking.

However, for many this will be the first time in performing Hajj, and many who have performed Hajj previously may have forgotten the full details of its method of performance.

Therefore, a series of talks and a presentation has been organised to educate every Muslim about the fifth pillar of Islam, Hajj.

These talks and the presentation are not restricted for those who intend to go for Hajj or those who have already booked their flights. In reality, it is an opportunity for every individual Muslim to educate ourselves in regards to one of the obligations that Allah has placed upon  us.

Insha Allah, these series of talks will prove to be immensely beneficial and detailed and will be adequate for each individual to understand the method of Hajj.

Following a successful and beautiful event last year, The Luminous Light is being held once again for Muslims and non-Muslims alike. It is an attempt to explain and introduce the true character, status, mission and being of the Beloved Prophet Muhammad صلي الله عليه و سلم.

Previously, the topics that were discussed included “the view from the other side” which discussed what unbiased non-Muslims have to say in regards to the Prophet of Allah صلي الله عليه و سلم. Similarly, the Prophet of Allah صلي الله عليه و سلم was described by the help and aid of the Qur’anic verses and Ahadeeth.

Alhumdulillah, some great scholars were present to give the speeches and to enlighten the community and people in regards to such an exalted creation of Allah.

It is hoped that this year the event will be even more powerful, touching and informative than the last.

An event that surely should not be missed.

Recently an event took place in Jame’ Masjid of Leicester. This event was titled “Challenges of living as Muslims” and it discussed topics related to the challenges we face today for a variety of reasons. May Allah accept the efforts of everyone who was envolved in this event and who took part. And also make it a means for change in the Muslim community. Aameen.

Challenges of Living as Muslims December 19, 2006

The challenges of living as a Muslim have been faced by people of every time who had chosed the path of Islam; be it the people of Nuh عليه السلام, the people of Musa عليه السلام or the followers of our beloved Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم.

There was a time when the people were litterally slaughtered for choosing the path of Islam, now the time has come where an individual, though not being slaughtered, faces the challenges of being a Muslim in todays world and society.

Each nation had a reason to reject Islam and oppose its followers, the nation of our beloved Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم is no different. During the time of our messenger صلي الله عليه و سلم there were people who knew and understood that Islam was the correct and true religion, they had no doubts in its perfection and completeness; yet they were adamant to oppose this religion due to thei ’status’ and false pride.

Challenges of Muslims today are various, either relating to their area and society; their friends; their culture and background; or even their personal interests and hobbies.

Islam, being a complete way of life, is present in every individual act of Muslims. Therefore, it is obvious that through the daily duties and activities of one’s life, Islam will play a major role. However, it is also essential to realise, that whilst Islam will be present in the challenges a Muslim faces in today’s life, it will also be the answer to the challenges that one faces in every area and dilemma throughout every area and aspect of life, regardless of race, background, social status, personal opinions etc.

This is the main theme of talk that will take place this Sunday!!

Be at the right place… The right location… At the right time…

Maybe you’ll be able to plan a new year’s resolution according to the Islamic point of view.

The Prophet of Allah صلي الله عليه و سلم has declared and announced that Hajj is a obligation upon every man. As we are all aware, this declaration comes from none other than Allah سبحانه و تعالي.

Therefore, it is essential for ever Muslim to seek the knowledge of this obligatory act as adviced by the Messenger of Allah صلي الله عليه و سلم:

طلب العلم فريضة علي كل مسلم

“The seeking of knowledge is obligatory upon every Muslim”

The knowledge which is obligatory upon every Muslim is that knowledge which a person needs to accomplish and execute the necessities and obligations of his Religion, Islam.

As the month of Hajj is approaching there will be many articles, speeches, talks and lessons regarding the obligation of Hajj. This will be in attempt to educate the people in this area of their Deen.

However, as the saying goes, ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’; it will be most beneficial to have this obligation and pilgrimage explained to us is picture format as well as words.

In attempt to accomplish this there will be a Multi Media Presentation held in Jame Mosque, Leicester, to educate the people through the means of slide show presentations and explanations of the acts and methods of Hajj.

I pray to Allah that He gives us the opportunity to visit His house and fulfil this beautiful and inspiring obligation of Hajj. I pray that He gives us the inclination to seek that knowledge which is necessary for us. Aameen.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to ask all those who are going to travel to the blessed cities to remember me in their Du’as.

Success is something that every person strives for and wishes to gain in every area of his life.

Many a times this success is sought for in this world where people try and achieve higher positions and statuses, and many a times, due to the extreme effort we put into achieve materialistic things in this world we tend to neglect the hereafter.

Despite this trend, there are a few people chosen by Allah Himself that sacrifice many years of their life to learn the religion of Islam; people who choose to acquire status but only in the sight of Allah. These people believe they have acquired the greatest rank not only in the hereafter but also in this world because they believe that they are acquired the true wealth and riches.

It is a famouse Arabic saying:

الكتب اغلي من الذهب لمن معرف قدرها

“Books are more valuable than gold… for that person who recognises its value”

These people have recognised the value of these books and the knowledge contained within. They thrive on being the inheritors of the Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم.

The world, with all that it contains, is accursed except for the remembrance of Allah that which pleases Allah; and the religious scholars and seekers of knowledge.”

[Jami' ut-Tirmidhi]

Not so far from now, a Graduation Ceremony will take place for those students of knowledge through which Allah has chosen to spread His religion.

Details:

Girl's Bukhari Jalsa

Boy's Bukhari Jalsa

All brothers and sisters are requested to attend this gathering and also bring along others.

Insha Allah this gathering will give us a little insight to the true riches and wealth that Allah has placed in this world.

May Allah accept efforts of all those students who are graduation and may He take work from us all for His religion. Aameen.

Love for the Prophet in Faith & Practice April 21, 2006

It is from man’s nature to love and desire even if it be for worldly material. However, if his love and desire for this world increase and is above the love of Allah and His Prophet Muhammad صلي الله عليه و سلم then this is not permissible and is classified as disobedience. Allah states in the Qur’an: “Say: If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your kindred, the wealth that you have gained, the commerce in which you fear a decline, and the dwelling in which you delight are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger (صلي الله عليه و سلم) and striving hard and fighting in His cause, then wait until Allah brings about His decision (torment). And Allah guides not the people who are disobedient.”

[Surah at-Towbah – 9:24]

Therefore it is necessary to create the love of Allah Ta’ala and His Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم in our hearts, and a further necessity to ascertain that love is greater than the love of anything else. If we love Allah Ta’ala then it is necessary that we follow the Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم and create love for him in both our faith and practice. Allah States: “Say (O Muhammad صلي الله عليه و سلم): “If you truly love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.”

[Surah Aal-e-Imraan – 3:31]

Our faith in Allah is incomplete if the love for our Beloved صلي الله عليه و سلم is incomplete. It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه that our Prophet Muhammad صلي الله عليه و سلم stated: “By Him in whose hands my life is, none of you will have faith till he loves me more than his father, children and entire mankind.”

[Saheeh al-Bukhari]

And Allah Ta’ala states:

“But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you judge in all disputes between them and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.”

[Surah an-Nisaa – 4:65]

To help us create this love of the Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم there will be a talk taking place. Details as follows:

Love of the Prophet
